Circe was a sorceress and goddess in Greek mythology, daughter of Helios, the Sun, and the Oceanid Perse. She lived on the island of Aeaea, where, through her potions and spells, she could transform humans into animals. Her most famous tale appears in Homer’s Odyssey, when Odysseus and his men arrived on her island. Circe turned his companions into pigs, but with Hermes’ guidance, Odysseus resisted her magic. In time, Circe became his ally and host.

She embodies enchantment, mystery, and the powerful, unpredictable forces of nature and the unknown.
